Huron Valley Trail

A Good Trail

July, 2025 by clonetrooper5373

The mostly shady (some sun peeks through) main path is absolutely wonderful and crack free (offshoots are a different matter), with a excellent round trip and ultimately connects to the MI air line trail, I would strongly recommend this one to anyone looking.

The two miles by McHattie Park are pretty rough, you might want to skip that section.

M-5 Metro Trail

Noisy but nice

July, 2025 by clonetrooper5373

The trail would have been a lot more enjoyable if developers hadn't put right next to M-5, but it does have nice scenery, some gentle hills, and offers a connection to the I-275 Metro Trail if you want something longer.

Fieldcrest Pathway

Ok, but use as a connector, otherwise skip it

If you aren't going to use it to get on another trail, I just wouldn't bother, as there isn't anything to do or see here.

Iron Horse River Trail

Great Year-Round Trail

July, 2025 by motter.kb

I enjoy walking and riding my bike on both the paved and unpaved portions of the trail. Great river views with Deer, Fox, Turkey and Eagle among other wildlife. The Williams County Veterans Memorial is a very short distance from the east entrance to the trail on the fairgrounds and well worth the extra ride.

ITC Corridor Trail (Novi)

Pretty

July, 2025 by clonetrooper5373

This is a fairly good trail, as long as you don't mind a mostly marsh/swamp style of scenery, with power lines also dominating. It's an enjoyable ride despite that, with a good round trip, and smooth pavement, so I would defiantly recommend if you're looking for a good trail.

West Bloomfield Trail

Beautiful

An excellent trail that offers a great round trip, shade, regular changes of scenery, this particular trail is a must visit.

Lower Rouge River Recreation Trail

Ok

July, 2025 by clonetrooper5373

Although there's nothing really to see here, this mostly shaded trail has a good round trip distance with some river crossings to break up the scenery, though I might skip this one.

Wayne County Metroparks Trail

A bit Rough

June, 2025 by clonetrooper5373

I feel this trail is a bit of a mixed bag, as it has an excellent round trip and is completely open to the sun, but the pavement is very rough and badly needs an upgrade (which seems to have started around 2025) throughout most of the trail.

With that said, I would cautiously recommend this trail if you're wiling to try it.

Brownstown Township Trail

Meh

June, 2025 by clonetrooper5373

With nonstop noise from vehicle traffic a constant and nothing to see/do I might consider skipping if you're from out of town.

Trenton Walking Path

Good

June, 2025 by clonetrooper5373

A good, quick trial that's' mostly sunny, good smooth pavement, but nothing to see except some sports fields.

Kensington Metropark Trail

absolutely Gorgeous

June, 2025 by bears64

Walking, biking, fishing, boating, wildlife, skiing, sledding, waterpark, picnic tables everywhere. Miles and miles, plenty of bathrooms everywhere. Swans, blue Herons, Sandhills Cranes, turtles….. I could go on forever. I love it here, drive 45 min. To an hour all the time to come. It’s my haven, it’s my peace. Water everywhere, very safe, park staff, park police. Come and enjoy!!

Slippery Elm Trail

Very Nice Trail

June, 2025 by vicki1960

While coming across OH on our way back to PA from IN, we stopped at this trail. Had lunch in Bowling Green (OH). Parked at the Montessori school trailhead since school was not in session. Biked South to North Baltimore and back. It was a hot and sunny day. There isn't much shade coverage as this trail goes through mainly farmlands once out of Bowling Green. First few miles appears to be newer asphalt pavement but the further South, the more sealed cracks there are but it wasn't bumpy. Wood County Parks District does a great job maintaining this trail with trash cans (that they empty) and park benches along the way. Grass was cut too! North Baltimore end of the trail has parking and real flush toilet restrooms. One block from town for water/food if needed. There are quite a few road crossings but not a lot of traffic.
